Stappone in Physiotherapy: Insights from the Symposium in St. Gallen
On January 19, 2024, experts in physiotherapy gathered in St. Gallen to participate in the 5th Symposium on Acute Inpatient Physiotherapy. Under the topic “Therapy in Transition: Half the Time, Twice as Efficient?” the symposium provided a fascinating glimpse into the ever-evolving world of physiotherapy. A highlight of the event was undoubtedly the Technowalk, which served as a platform for innovative technologies and provided professionals with the opportunity to exchange ideas and solutions.
The 5th Symposium on Acute Inpatient Physiotherapy
The Institute for Physiotherapy at ZHAW, in collaboration with its partners, the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen and the Interest Group for Physiotherapy Rehabilitation in Acute Hospitals, organized the 5th Symposium on Acute Inpatient Physiotherapy. With the theme “Therapy in Transition?” the symposium provided new food for thought: Where is the focus of therapy shifting? Which therapy approaches are efficient and sustainable? How can patient compliance be increased, and what contextual factors are underestimated? The symposium consisted of presentations in the morning, workshops, and a Technowalk, where attendees could explore innovative technologies for clinical practice. This interactive approach enabled professionals to better understand the presented technologies and delve into discussions.
